The guys that created javacertificate.com have create a new certification center, j2eecertificate.com, where you can practice for the scwcd exam. I really like javacertificate.com, i think it’s a good tool to practice for the exam. One day, when i have the time, i’ll take the exam, but right now i really need my time to learn new things.

Poseidon 2.0

I just downloaded poseidon 2.0. I needed to draw some UML diagrams for a presentation, and noticed that the new version was available for download. The poseidon website has also been renewed. After using the new version for an hour i’m not sure if it’s production quality. I’m having problems with the registration process, the registration window doesn’t really want to go away, and the key window shows about 10 registration keys. Also the automatic registration, using Apache Axis, doesn’ t work, so i had to you their website to get a key.
The diagrams have improved, the fonts are now anti-aliased, which is nice if you want to use them in a presentation. I had some problems with selected items, which i couldn’t deselect. And i also had a problem with deleting a diagram. Nothing major, it’s usuable, but i hope they release version 2.0.1 soon.

Some more problems i encountered: – Resizing objects doesn’t work very well, you can drag a corner point but the object doesn’t resize – Moving objects sometimes doesn’t work.

Mm, the list keeps growing: – At one point i couldn’t draw any associations between objects in the deployment diagrams anymore, – and finally the deployment diagram started scrolling without stopping, so i had to end the program…

Let’s hope these issues are solved soon.
