Installing Oracle BPEL process manager
On page 6 of the Oracle BPEL process manager test drive guide there are links to 2 eclipse plugins: the emf/sdo plugin and the xsd plugin. These links didn’t work for me, but you can download these plugins from the XSD, EMF, SDO download page. Unzip them in your existing Eclipse (3.0 m9 and up, I tried 3.0 production) directory and then run the Oracle BPEL installer. That’s all.

Hi, we’re also busy investigating BPEL Process Manager options. Did you perform some own testing / developing yet ? Whats your opinion on the tool and future of it within the Oracle product stack ?

This is indeed a problem: Eclipse moved their deliverables post 3.0 and the links in the Test Drive documents are no longer valid.
What makes this an even more painful experience is that the BPEL Designer plug-in version 0.8 only works with Eclipse 3.0 version M9-RC2 (NOT the 3.0 GA release).
We are aware of these problems. We will be pushing out a 0.9 release next week (July 30th) which will be compatible with 3.0 GA and removes the dependency on the XML Schema plug-ins.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

I’ve just (8/11, 13:00) downloaded eclipse 3.0 GA and the BPEL Designer (bpelz_0.9.1_win32.exe). I don’t get the project wizard, and see log errors like:
Skipping builder bpelz.BPELBuilder for project HelloWorld. Either the builder is missing from the install, or it belongs to a project nature that is missing or disabled.
Has anyone got this to work?

I haven’t tried the latest version yet, don’t know what could be wrong.

Hi all,
I’ve installed Eclipse Platform Version: 3.0.1 Build id: 200409161125) and bpelz_0.9.5_win32.exe from Oracle but i always get the same annoying message: “The version of the Eclipse platform installed must be at least 3.0 (release)”.
I enter the right path and I have already tried with other eclipse releases (3.0 M4 and 3.0 release) ...
Any suggestion ?
Have I to download another more eclipse version ?
Thank You in advance

I too keep getting “The version of the Eclipse platform installed must be at least 3.0 (release)”. Did you ever find out what the problem was? Eclipse 3.1.0 and bpelz_0.9.10_win32.
